You look surprised
You didn't think you'd see me
Kicking up my heels
Painting up this town
When you said good-bye
I learned a couple new dances
Cast a couple of glances
I'm on a big roll now...
Except for Monday which was never good anyway
Tuesday I get a little sideways
Wednesday I feel better just for spite
Thursday and Friday take too long
Before I know it, Saturday's gone
But it's Sunday now and you can bet that I'm alright
Don't get me wrong
It wasn't always this easy
Getting over you
Got a little rough on me
It didn't take long
Till I got it together
And everyday I thank my lucky stars that you set me free
Except for Monday which was never good anyway
Tuesday I get a little sideways
Wednesday I feel better just for spite
Thursday and Friday take too long
Before I know it, Saturday's gone
But it's Sunday now and you can bet that I'm alright
Except for Monday which was never good anyway
Tuesday I get a little sideways
Wednesday I feel better just for spite
Thursday and Friday take too long
Before I know it, Saturday's gone
But it's Sunday now and you can bet that I'm alright
It's Sunday now and everything's alright

Just What I Needed
Written by Ric Ocasek
Performed by The Cars
I don't mind you comin' here
And wastin' all my time
'cause when you're standin' oh so near
I kinda lose my mind
It's not the perfume that you wear
It's not the ribbons in your hair
I don't mind you comin' here
And wastin' all my time
I don't mind you hangin' out
And talkin' in your sleep
It doesn't matter where you've been
As long as it was deep, yeah
You always knew to wear it well and
You look so fancy I can tell
I don't mind you hangin' out
And talkin' in your sleep
I guess you're just what I needed
(just what I needed)
I needed someone to feed
I guess you're just what I needed
(just what I needed)
I needed someone to bleed
I don't mind you comin' here
And wastin' all my time time
'cause when you're standin' oh so near
I kinda lose my mind, yeah

Oh Danny Boy
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

Sun Comes Up It's Tuesday Morning
Written by Michael Timmins
Performed by the Cowboy Junkies
Sun comes up, it's Tuesday morning
Hits me straight in the eye
Guess you forgot to close the blind last night
Oh, that's right, I forgot, it was me
I sure do miss the smell of black coffee in the morning,
The sound of water splashing all over the bathroom,
The kiss that you would give me even though I was sleeping,
But I kind of like the feel of this extra few feet in my bed
Telephone's ringing, but I don't answer it
'cause everybody knows that good news always sleeps till noon
Guess it's tea and toast for breakfast again
Maybe I'll add a little t.v. too
No milk! god, how I hate that
Guess I'll go to the corner, get breakfast from jenny
She's got a black eye this morning, `Jen how'd ya get it? '
She says, `last night, Bobby got a little bit out of hand'
Lunchtime. I start to dial your number
Then I remember so I reach for something to smoke
And anyways I'd rather listen to Coltrane
Than go through all that shit again
There's something about an afternoon spent doing nothing
Just listening to records and watching the sun falling
Thinking of things that don't have to add up to something
And this spell won't be broken
By the sound of keys scraping in the lock
Maybe tonight it's a movie
With plenty of room for elbows and knees
A bag of popcorn all to myself,
Black and white with a strong female lead
And if I don't like it, no debate, I'll leave
Here comes that feeling that I'd forgotten
How strange these streets feel
When you're alone on them
Each pair of eyes just filled with suggestion
So I lower my head, make a beeline for home
Seething inside
Funny, I'd never noticed
The sound the streetcars make as they pass my window
Which reminds me that I forgot to close the blind again
Yeah, sure I'll admit there are times when I miss you
Especially like now when I need someone to hold me
But there are some things that can never be forgiven
And I just gotta tell you
That I kinda like this extra few feet in my bed

When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder
Written by James Black (Johnny Cash's version)
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain:
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there
Refrain
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain:
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there
Refrain
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

Lost and Found
Written by Kix Brooks and Don Cook
Performed by Brooks and Dunn
I lost her trail on a Friday night
She was gone before I got home
She'd been getting restless
In that big house all alone
I've been up and down these city streets
For three nights in a row
And lord it's hard to find that girl
When she gets the urge to go
She's out there somewhere
Burnin up the night
Somehow I've got to run her down
I'm running out of time
Chorus
Performed by Brooks and Dunn

She'd been getting restless
In that big house all alone
I've been up and down these city streets
For three nights in a row
And lord it's hard to find that girl
When she gets the urge to go
Chorus:
It's kinda like a lost and found
In a border town
Askin' bout a diamond ring
They just look at you
Like you've lost your mind
Say they haven't seen a thing
But I know she's been here lately
I can still smell her perfume
And she gets crazy on a full moon
And I know she'll be coming back
Her car is waiting right outside
But, I don't want to think about
Who's taking her for a ride
And her unpredictability
Is what I love about her best
Lord I've got to find her quick
Before she does something I regret
Chorus
It's kinda like a lost and found
In a border town
Askin' bout a diamond ring
They just look at you

I Need You Tonight
Written by Andrew Farriss, Michael Hutchence and Stephen Manderson
Performed by INXS
All you got it this moment
Twenty-first century’s yesterday
You can care all you want
Everybody does, yeah, that’s ok
So slide over here
And give me a moment
Your moves are so raw
I’ve got to let you know
I’ve got to let you know
You’re one of my kind
I need you tonight
Cause I’m not sleeping
There’s something about you girl
That makes me sweat
How do you feel?
I’m lonely
What do you think?
Can’t think at all
Whatcha gonna do?
Gonna live my life
So slide over here
And give me a moment
Your moves are so raw
I’ve got to let you know
I’ve got to let you know
You’re one of my kind
I need you tonight
Cause I’m not sleeping

Bitch
Written by Meredith Brooks and Shelly Peiken
Performed by Meredith Brooks
I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
Tried to tell you
But you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
Innocent and sweet
Yesterday I cried
You must have been relieved to see
The softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one
Chorus:
I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
So take me as I am
This may mean
You'll have to be a stronger man
Rest assured that
When I start to make you nervous
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing
Chorus
Just when you think, you got me figured out
The season's already changing
I think it's cool, you do what you do
And don't try to save me
Chorus
I'm a bitch, I'm a tease
I'm a goddess on my knees
When you hurt, when you suffer
I'm your angel undercover
I've been numb, I'm revived
Can't say I'm not alive
You know I wouldn't want it any other way

Summer Breeze
Written by Dan Seals and Dash Crofts
Performed by Seals and Crofts
See the curtains hangin' in the window, in the evenin' on a Friday night.
A little light a-shinin' through the window, lets me know everything is alright.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
See the paper layin' on the sidewalk, a little music from the house next door.
So I walked on up to the doorstep, through the screen and across the floor.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom. July is dressed up and playing her tune.
And I come home from a hard day's work, and you're waiting there, not a care in the world.
See the smile a-waitin' in the kitchen, food cookin' and the plates for two.
Feel the arms that reach out to hold me, in the evening when the day is through.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.

I Can't Make You Love Me
Written by Allen Shamblin & Michael Reid
Performed by Bonnie Raitt
Turn down the lights, turn down the bed
Turn down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me, tell me no lies
Just hold me close, don't patronize - don't patronize me
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these final hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't
I'll close my eyes, then I won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me
Morning will come and I'll do what's right
Just give me till then to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight
Cause I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these lonely hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power

Keeping The Faith
Written by Billy Joel
Performed by Billy Joel
If it seems like I've been lost
In let's remember
If you think I'm feeling older
And missing my younger days
Oh, then you should have known
Me much better
Cause my past is something that never
Got in my way
Oh no
Still I would not be here now
If I never had the hunger
And I'm not ashamed to say
The wild boys were my friends
Oh
Cause I never felt the desire
'Til their music set me on fire
And then I was saved, yeah
That's why I'm keeping the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keeping the faith
We wore matador boots
Only Flagg Brothers had them with the Cuban heel
Iridescent socks with the same color shirt
And a tight pair of chinos
Oh
I put on my shark skin jacket
You know the kind with the velvet collar
And ditty-bop shades
Oh yeah
I took a fresh pack of Luckies
And a mint called Sen-Sen
My old man's Trojans
And his Old Spice after shave
Oh
Combed my hair in a pompadour
Like the rest of the Romeos wore
A permanent wave
Yeah
We were keeping the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keeping the faith

You can get just so much
From a good thing
You can linger too long
In your dreams
Say goodbye to the
Oldies but goodies
Cause the good ole days weren't
Always good
And tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems
Learned stickball as a formal education
Lost a lot of fights
But it taught me how to lose O.K.
Oh
I heard about sex
But not enough
I found you could dance
And still look tough anyway
Oh yes I did
I found out a man ain't just being macho
Ate an awful lot of late night drive-in food
Drank a lot of take-home pay
I thought I was the Duke of Earl
When I made it with a red-haired girl
In the Chevrolet
Oh yeah
We were keeping the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keeping the faith
You know the good ole days weren't
Always good
And tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems
Now I told you my reasons
For the whole revival
Now I'm going outside to have
An ice cold beer in the shade
Oh
I'm going to listen to my 45's
Ain't it wonderful to be alive
When the rock 'n' roll plays
Yeah
When the memory stays
Yeah
I'm keeping the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keeping the faith
I'm keeping the faith
Yes I am
From a good thing
You can linger too long

Radio Song
Written by Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike, Mills, Michael Stipe
Performed by REM
Hey, I can't find nothing on the radio
Yo! turn to that station
The world is collapsing
Around our ears
I turned up the radio
But I can't hear it
When I got to the house
And I called you out
I could tell that you had been crying, crying
It's that same sing song on the radio
It makes me sad
I meant to turn it off
To say goodbye
To leave in quiet
that radio song
Hey hey hey
I've everything to show
I've everything to hide
Look into my eyes
Listen
When I got to the show
Yo ho ho
I could tell that you had been crying, crying
It's that same sing song, and the DJ sucks
It makes me sad
I tried to turn it off (turn it off)
To say goodbye my love
That radio song
Hey hey hey
The world is collapsing
Around our ears
I turned up the radio
But I can't hear it
Yeah, baby, baby, baby
I tried to sing along
But damn that radio song
Hey hey hey
I've everything to show
I've everything to hide
Look into my eyes listen to the radio
I turned up the radio
But I can't hear it
No, I can't hear it
Hey hey hey
Say what?
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Check it out
What are you saying
What are you playing
Who are you obeying
Day out, day in, huh?
Baby baby baby
That stuff is driving me crazy
DJs communicate to the masses
Sex and violent classes
Now our children grow up prisoners
All their lives radio listeners
Performed by REM
Hey, I can't find nothing on the radio
Yo! turn to that station
The world is collapsing
Around our ears
I turned up the radio
But I can't hear it
When I got to the house
And I called you out
I could tell that you had been crying, crying
It's that same sing song on the radio
It makes me sad
I meant to turn it off
To say goodbye
To leave in quiet
that radio song
Hey hey hey
I've everything to show
I've everything to hide
Look into my eyes
Listen
When I got to the show
Yo ho ho
I could tell that you had been crying, crying
It's that same sing song, and the DJ sucks

Love, Mercy and Grace
Written by C. Austin Miles
Twas Love that gave at greatest cost
A Life, that mine should not be lost
The Love that died in deep despair
My debt fully satisfied there
Refrain:
It was love that took my place
On the cross of Calvary
It was grace, redeeming grace
That paid my ransom full and free
Over sin, without, within,
I have the victory
Thro’ grace, marvellous grace
That lives in me
The Love that freely all forgives
In fullness now within me lives
Thro’ every trial this I see
His grace is sufficient for me
God’s love His mercy and His grace
Combine to raise a fallen race
His hand is ready, ere we call
Held out with forgiveness for all
Refrain
Twas Love that gave at greatest cost
A Life, that mine should not be lost
The Love that died in deep despair
My debt fully satisfied there
Refrain:

The Night Is Still Young
Written by Billy Joel
Performed by Billy Joel
I`m young enough to still see the passionate boy that I used to be
But I`m old enough to say I got a good look at the other side
I know we got to work real hard, maybe even for the rest of our lives
But right now I just want to take what I can get tonight
While the night is still young
I want to keep making love to you
While the night is still young
I`d like to settle down, get married
And maybe have a child someday
I can see a time coming when
I`m gonna throw my suitcase out
No more separations
Where you have to say goodnight to a telephone
Baby I`ve decided that ain`t what this life is all about
While the night is still young
There`ll never be a lovely view
While the night is still young
I want to try to make the world brand new
While the night is still young
Rock and Roll music was the only thing I ever gave a damn about
There was something that was missing but I never used to wonder why
Now I know you're the one I need to make things right again
And I may lose the battle but you're giving me the will to try
While the night is still young
There`ll never be a long lovely view
Because the night is still young
I`ve got a lot of catching up I`ve got to do
While the night is still young
While the night is still young
While the night is still young
I want to try to make the world brand new
While the night is still young
I want to keep making love to you
While the night is still young
While the night is still young
The night is still young
While the night is still young
I`ve got a lot of catching up to do
While the night is still young
Hold on, hold on, hold on
While the night is still young

Paperback Writer
Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney
Performed by the Beatles
Paperback writer, paperback writer.
Dear Sir or Madam will you read my book,
It took me years to write will you take a look,
Based on a novel by a man named Lear,
And I need a job,
So I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
It’s a dirty story of a dirty man,
And his clinging wife doesn’t understand.
His son is working for the Daily Mail,
It’s a steady job,
But he wants to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
It’s a thousand pages give or take a few,
I’ll be writing more in a week or two,
I can make it longer if you like the style,
I can change it round,
And I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer.
If you really like it you can have the rights,
It could make a million for you overnight,
If you must return it you can send it here,
But I need a break,
And I want to be a paperback writer,
Paperback writer

Long Haired Country Boy
Written by Charlie Daniels
Performed by Charlie Daniels Band
People say I'm no-good,
And crazy as a loon.
I get stoned in the morning,
I get drunk in the afternoon.
Kinda like my old blue tick hound,
I like to lay around in the shade,
An', I ain't got no money,
But I damn sure got it made.
'Cos I ain't askin' nobody for nothin',
If I can't get it on my own.
If you don't like the way I'm livin',
You just leave this long-haired country boy alone.
Preacher man talkin' on the TV,
He's a-puttin' down the rock 'n' roll.
He wants me to send a donation,'Cos he's worried about my soul.
He said: "Jesus walked on the water,"And I know that is true,
But sometimes I think that preacher man,
Would like to do a little walkin', too.
But I ain't askin' nobody for nothin',
If I can't get it on my own.
You don't like the way I'm livin',
You just leave this long-haired country boy alone.
A poor girl wants to marry, And a rich girl wants to flirt.
A rich man goes to college,And a poor man goes to work.
A drunkard wants another drink of wine,And a politician wants a vote.
I don't want much of nothin' at all,But I will take another toke.
'Cos I ain't askin' nobody for nothin',If I can't get it on my own.
If you don't like the way I'm livin',
You just leave this long-haired country boy alone.

Kissing A Fool
Written by George Michael
Performed by George Michael
You are far.
When I could have been your star,
You listened to people,
Who scared you to death, and from my heart.
Strange you that you were strong enough,
To even make a start.....
But you'll never find, peace of mind,
Til you listen to your heart.
People...
You can never change the way they feel,
Better let them do just what they will.
For they will,
If you let them steal your heart from you.....
People...
Will always make a lover feel a fool,
But you knew I loved you.
We could have shown them all,
We should have seen love through.
Fooled me with the tears in your eyes,
Covered me with kisses and lies,
So good....bye....
But please don't take my heart.

You are far.
I'm never gonna be your star.
I'll pick up the pieces, and mend my heart.
Maybe I'll be strong enough,
I don't know where to start.
But I'll never find, peace of mind,
While I listen to my heart.
People....
You can never change the way they feel.
Better let them do just what they will.

But you knew I loved you.
We could have shown them all.
But remember this, every other kiss,
That you ever give, long as we both live,
When you need the hand of another man,
One you really can surrender with,
I will wait for you, like I always do,
There something there, that can't compare,
With any other.......
You are far.
When I could have been your star,
You listened to people,
Who scared you to death, and from my heart.
Strange that I was wrong enough,
To think you'd love me too...........
You must have been.........
Kissing................................... a fool
I'm never gonna be your star.
I'll pick up the pieces, and mend my heart.

Written by KD Lang and Ben Mink
Performed by KD Lang
Just a kiss just a kiss
I have lived just for this
I can't explain why I've become
Miss Chatelaine
Just a smile just a smile
Hold me captive just a while
I can't explain why I've become
Miss Chatelaine
Every time your eyes meet mine
Clouds of qualm
Burst into sunshine
Just a sigh just a sigh
Words my love just reply
I can't explain why I've become
Miss Chatelaine
Miss Chatelaine
Zing!!!

Hold me captive just a while

Any Day Now
Written by Burt Bacharach and Bob Hilliard
Performed by Ronnie Milsap
Any day now I will hear you say 'Goodbye, my love'
And you'll be on your way
Then my wild beautiful bird, you will have flown, woah
Any day now, I'll be all alone, whoa-oa-oa-oa-oa
Any day now, when your restless eyes meet someone new
Oh, to my sad surprise
Then the blue shadows will fall all over town, woah
Any day now (any day now)
Love will let me down (any day now), whoa-oa-oa-oa-oa
I know I shouldn't want to keep you
If you don't want to stay-ay
Until you're gone forever
I'll keep holdin' on for dear life
Holding you this way
Begging you to stay
Any day now, when the clock strikes 'Go?
You'll call it off
And then my tears will flow
Then my wild beautiful bird, you will have flown, woah
Any day now (any day now)
Love will let me down (any day now), 'cause you won't be around
Then the blue shadows will fall all over town, woah
Any day now (any day now)
Love will let me down (any day now), 'cause you won't be around
Any day now, you won't be around
Ooo-ooo-oo
(Any day now)
No no no no no no

Sowing the Seeds of Love
Written by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith
Performed by Tears for Fears
High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man
And the love train rides from coast to coast
D.j.s the man we love the most
Could you be, could you be squeaky clean
And smash any hope of democracy?
As the headline says you're free to choose
There's egg on your face and mud on your shoes
One of these days they're gonna call it the blues
And anything is possible when you're sowing the seeds of love
Anything is possible - sowing the seeds of love
I spy tears in their eyes
They look to the skies for some kind of divine intervention
Food goes to waste!
So nice to eat, so nice to taste
Politician grannie with your high ideals
Have you no idea how the majority feels?
So without love and a promise land
We're fools to the rules of a government plan
Kick out the style! bring back the jam!
Anything...
Sowing the seeds
The birds and the bees
My girlfriend and me in love
Feel the pain
Talk about it
If you're a worried man - then shout about it
Open hearts - feel about it
Open minds - think about it
Everyone - read about it
Everyone - scream about it !
Everyone
Everyone - read about it, read about it
Read in the books in the crannies and the nooks there are books to read
Chorus!
(Mr. England sowing the seeds of love)
Time to eat all your words
Swallow your pride
Open your eyes
High time we made a stand and shook up the views of the common man
And the love train rides from coast to coast
Every minute of every hour - I love a sunflower
And I believe in love power, love power, love power !!!
Sowing the seeds
An end to need
And the politics of greed
With love
Performed by Tears for Fears

Deeper Than The Holler
Written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz
Performed by Randy Travis
Well I've heard those city singers singin' 'bout how they can love,
Deeper than the oceans, higher than the stars above.
Well, I come from the country, and I know I ain't seen it all.
But I heard that ocean's salty, and the stars, they sometimes fall.
And that would not do justice to the way I feel for you.
So I had to sing this song about all the things I knew.
My love is deeper than the holler.
Stronger than the river.
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill.
My love is purer than the snowflakes,
That fall in late December.
And honest as a Robin on a springtime window sill.
And longer than the song of a whippoorwill.
From the back roads to the Broadway shows with a million miles between,
There's a least a million love songs that people love to sing.
And every one is different, and every one's the same.
And this is just another way of sayin' the same thing.
My love is deeper than the holler.
Stronger than the river.
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill.
My love is purer than the snowflakes,
That fall in late December.
And honest as a Robin on a spring-time window sill.
And longer than the song of a whippoorwill.
My love is deeper than the holler.
Stronger than the river.
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill.
My love is purer than the snowflakes,
That fall in late December.

I'm Still Standing
Written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin
Performed by Elton John
You could never know what it's like
Your blood like winter freezes just like ice
And there's a cold lonely light that shines from you
You’ll wind up like the wreck you hide behind that mask you use
And did you think this fool could never win
Well look at me, I’m coming back again
I got a taste of love in a simple way
And if you need to know while I’m still standing you just fade away
Don't you know I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah
Once I never could hope to win
You starting down the road leaving me again
The threats you made were meant to cut me down
And if our love was just a circus you'd be a clown by now
Performed by Elton John

Half The Man I Am
Written by Clint Black and Hayden Nicholas
Performed by Clint Black
She's every reason I take so much work on
And every reason I take so much time at home
And every single reason why I'm so much stronger
And every reason I could never be alone
Look at me, you'll see who I've found
I'm beside myself whenever she's around
Without her, you'd see a different man
It's what she makes of me, she's half the man I am
When the rivers all run dry, she finds the water
And when everything is dark, she finds the light
And when it's time to fly, she's flying with me
With her on the wing, we balance out just right
Look at me, you'll see who I've found
I'm beside myself whenever she's around
Without her, you'd see a different man
It's what she makes of me, she's half the man I am
I'm what she's made of me, she's half the man I am
Performed by Clint Black
She's every reason I take so much work on
And every reason I take so much time at home
And every single reason why I'm so much stronger
And every reason I could never be alone
Look at me, you'll see who I've found
I'm beside myself whenever she's around
Without her, you'd see a different man
It's what she makes of me, she's half the man I am
When the rivers all run dry, she finds the water

It Doesn't Have To Be That Way
Written by Jim Croce
Performed by Jim Croce
Snowy nights and Christmas lights,
Icy windowpanes,
Make me wish that we could be
Together again.
And the windy winter avenues
Just don't seem the same,
And the Christmas carols sound like blues,
But the choir is not to blame.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
What we had should never have ended.
I'll be dropping by today.
We could easily get it together tonight.
It's only right.
Crowded stores, the corner Santa Claus,
Tinseled afternoons,
And the sidewalk bands play their songs
Slightly out of tune.
Down the windy winter avenues
There walks a lonely man,
And if I told you who he is,
Well I think you'd understand.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
What we had should never have ended.
I'll be dropping by today.
We could easily get it together tonight.
It's only right.
No, it doesn't have to be that way.
What we had should never have ended.

You're Gonna Love Me One Day
Written by Heather Myles
Performed by Heather Myles
You don't know it yet,
But one day you're gonna have regrets.
When you realize your foolish ways,
You're gonna love me one day.
And it might take some time,
But my love is like a vintage wine.
And it gets better as it grows with age, hey, hey,
You're gonna love me one day.
You'll be sorry, you'll be blue,
And there's nothin' I can do.
'Cos everything you've done to me,
Is comin' back to you.
And when you see the light,
And you're havin' lots of sleepless nights,
Will you dream about your castaways? Hey, hey,
You're gonna love me one day.
You're gonna love me one day.
You'll be sorry, you'll be blue,
And there's nothin' I can do.
'Cos everything you've done to me,
Is comin' back to you.
And when you see the light,
And you're havin' lots of sleepless nights,
Will you dream about your castaways? Hey, hey,

Some Girls Do
Written by Mark Miller
Performed by Sawyer Brown
She turned up her nose as she walked by my cadillac
From the corner of my eye I saw you and you laughed
You were sittin' on the swing on your fron porch
Paintin' your nails like you were bored
And you yelled "She was sure impressed with you"
Chorus:
Well I ain't first class
But I ain't white trash
I'm wild and a little crazy too
Some girls don't like boys like me
Aww but some girls do
I yelled and asked if you would like a ride
When we pulled out of your yard I balled a tire
You was laughing at me, I was doing James Dean
You was the prettiest girl I'd ever seen
When you rolled your eyes and twirled my pink fur dice
Chorus
Well good ole' boys don't get no breaks
And rich boys think they got what it takes
But there's someone for each of us they say
Chorus x2
I said some girls do
You know some girls do
Like boys like me
You know some girls do

Broken Heart for Sale
Written by Heather Myles
For sale: broken heart for sale.
Needs tender loving care; if you need a spare.
This broken heart's for sale.
Blue; if you like the shade of blue.
Make an offer: you can't lose.
I know it's tried and true.
You might find the missing pieces.
If you love it and don't leave it.
For sale: broken heart for sale.
Needs tender loving care; shows a little wear.
Got a broken heart for sale.
You might find the missing pieces.
If you love it and don't leave it.
For sale: broken heart for sale.
Needs tender loving care; shows a little wear.
Got a broken heart for sale.
Needs tender loving care; if you need a spare.
Got a broken heart for sale.

Praise Him
Written by Fanny Crosby
Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus our blessed redeemer
Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him, hail Him! highest archangels in glory
Strength and honour give to His holy name
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children
In His arms He carries them all day long
O ye saints that dwell in the mountains of Zion
Praise Him! praise Him! ever in joyful song
Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer
For our sins He suffered and bled and died
He, our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation
Hail Him, hail Him! Jesus the Crucified
Loving Saviour, meekly enduring sorrow
Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow
Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken
Prince of glory, ever triumphant now
Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer
Heavenly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Saviour, reigneth for ever and ever
Crown Him, crown Him! Prophet and Priest and King!
Death is vanquished, tell it with joy, ye faithful!
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?
Jesus lives, no longer thy portals are cheerless
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save
Praise Him, praise Him! Jesus our blessed redeemer
Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him, hail Him! highest archangels in glory
Strength and honour give to His holy name
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children
In His arms He carries them all day long
O ye saints that dwell in the mountains of Zion

Tunnel of Love
Written by Mark Knopfler
Performed by Dire Straits
Getting crazy on the waltzers but it's the life that I choose
Sing about the sixblade sing about the switchback and a torture tattoo
And I been riding on a ghost train where the cars they scream and slam
And I don't know where I'll be tonight but I'll always tell you where I am
In a screaming ring of faces I seen her standing in the light
She had a ticket for the races, yeah just like me she was a victim of the night
I put my hand upon the lever said let it rock and let it roll
I had a one arm bandit fever there was an arrow through my heart and my soul
And the big wheel keep on turning neon burning up above
And I'm just high on the world
Come on and take a low ride with me girl
On the tunnel of love, yeah love
It's just a danger, and when you're riding at your own risk
She said you are the perfect stranger, she said baby just keep it like this
It's just a cakewalk twisting baby step right up and say
Hey mister give me two give me two now, 'cause any two can play
And the big wheel keep on turning neon burning up above
And I'm just high on the world
Come on and take a low ride with me girl
On the tunnel of love, oooh love
Well it's been money for muscle another whirligig
Money for muscle and another girl I dig
Another hustle just to, just to make it big
And rockaway, rockaway, oh rockaway, rockaway
And girl it looks so pretty to me just like it always did
Like the Spanish City to me when we where kids
Oh girl it looks so pretty to me just like it always did
Like the Spanish City to me when we where kids
Woh-la
Check it out
She took off a silver locket she said remember me by this
She put her hand in my pocket I got a keepsake and a kiss
And in the roar of dust and diesel I stood and watched her walk away
I could have caught up with her easy enough but something must have made me stay
And the big wheel keep on turning neon burning up above
And I'm just high on this world
Come on and take a low ride with me girl
On the tunnel of love, yeah love love
On the tunnel of love, oooh love love
And now I'm searching through these carousels and the carnival arcades
Searching everywhere from steeplechase to palisades
In any shooting gallery where promises are made
To rockaway, rockaway... rockaway, rockaway
From Cullercoats and Whitley Bay out to rockaway
And girl it looks so pretty to me just like it always did
Like the Spanish City to me when we where kids

I Want to be a Cowboy's Sweetheart
Written by Nancy Montana
Performed by Suzy Bogguss
I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart
I want to learn to rope and to ride
I want to ride o'er the plains and the deserts
Out west of that great divide
I want to hear the coyotes howlin'
While the sun sinks in the West
I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart
That's the life I love the best
(Yodeling)
I want to ride Old Paint goin' at a run
I want to feel the wind in my face
A thousand miles from all the city lights
Goin' a cowhand's pace
I want to pillow my head near the sleeping herd
While the moon shines down from above
I want to strum my guitar Od'da'le ee hee
Oh that's the life that I love
(Yodeling)
I want to be a cowboy's sweetheart
I want to learn to rope and to ride
I want to ride o'er the plains and the deserts

Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good Ol' Days)
Written by Jamie O'Hara
Performed by The Judds
Grandpa
Tell me about the good ol days
Sometimes it feels like
This worlds gone crazy
Grandpa
Take me back to yesterday
When the line between right and wrong
Didn't seem so hazy
(chorus)
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside eachother come what may
Was a promise really something people kept
Not just something they would say
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddy's really never go away
But whoa whoa grandpa
Tell me bout the good ol days
Grandpa
Everything is changing fast
We call it progress
But I just don't know
And Grandpa
Let's wander back into the passed
And paint me the picture
Of long ago
Did lovers really fall in love to stay
And stand beside eachother come what may
Was a promise something people kept
Not just something they would say
And then forget
Did families really bow their heads to pray
Did daddys really never go away
But whoa whoa grandpa
Tell me bout the good ol days

Mr. Tanner
Written by Harry Chapin
Performed by Harry Chapin
Mister Tanner was a cleaner from a town in the Midwest.
And of all the cleaning shops around he'd made his the best.
But he also was a baritone who sang while hanging clothes.
He practiced scales while pressing tails and sang at local shows.
His friends and neighbors praised the voice that poured out from his throat.
They said that he should use his gift instead of cleaning coats.
But music was his life, it was not his livelihood,
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good.
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul.
He did not know how well he sang; It just made him whole.
His friends kept working on him to try music out full time.
A big debut and rave reviews, a great career to climb.
Finally they got to him, he would take the fling.
A concert agent in New York agreed to have him sing.
And there were plane tickets, phone calls, money spent to rent the hall.
It took most of his savings but he gladly used them all.
But music was his life, it was not his livelihood,
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good.
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul.
He did not know how well he sang; It just made him whole.
The evening came, he took the stage, his face set in a smile.
And in the half filled hall the critics sat watching on the aisle.
But the concert was a blur to him, spatters of applause.
He did not know how well he sang, he only heard the flaws.
But the critics were concise, it only took four lines.
But no one could accuse them of being over kind.
Mr. Martin Tanner, Baritone, of Dayton, Ohio made his
Town Hall debut last night. He came well prepared, but unfortunately
his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards.
His voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it
consistently interesting.
Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order.
He came home to Dayton and was questioned by his friends.
Then he smiled and just said nothing and he never sang again,
excepting very late at night when the shop was dark and closed.
He sang softly to himself as he sorted through the clothes.
Music was his life, it was not his livelihood,
and it made him feel so happy and it made him feel so good.
And he sang from his heart and he sang from his soul.
(And) he did not know how well he sang; It just made him whole.

Hold Me Now
Written by Paul Gerard Buchanan and Robert Bell
Performed by the Thompson Twins
I have a picture pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me
And we're laughin' with love at it all.
Look at our life now
Tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears
That we cry until dawn.
Oh
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
Warm my heart
Stay with me
Let lovin' start
Let lovin' start.
You say I'm a dreamer
We're two of a kind
Both of us searching for some perfect world
We know we'll never find.
So perhaps I should leave here
Yeah-yeah
Go far away
But you know that there's nowhere
That I'd rather be than with you here today.
Oh
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
Warm my heart
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
Warm my heart
You asked if I love you
What can I say?
You know that I do and that this is just one of those games that we play.
So I'll sing you a new song
Please
Don't cry anymore
I'll even ask your forgiveness though I don't know
Just what I'm asking it for.
Oh
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
Warm my heart
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
Warm my heart
Oh
Hold me now. Oh
